Maija and Cody are looking for self-lead,
project management oriented people who have a love of the land, who participate
in communal spaces, who want to contribute to the long-term vision of the Buckeye Ranch, and who bring positive energy and an open mind.
Buckeye Ranch is a beautiful property located on the foothills of Salinas Valley.
Salinas Valley produces 70% of the nation’s lettuce and has a huge part in growing produce for the US.
Maija and Cody are grateful for having that amazing soil and want to take advantage of it, but since it’s just the two of them, they would love the help!
Participants have the opportunity to be involved with infrastructure
projects, taking care of the greenhouse and orchard throughout the seasons, using knowledge on tree and soil health
to improve composting, light construction, and preserving products that come off the land.
The closest international airport is
San Jose Mineta International Airport, which is about an hour and a half away or participants can fly into Monterey which is only 30 minutes from the property.
Cody and Maija will be looking for placements for the summer and fall of 2025.

Worldpackers is an online platform that connects travelers with hosts in over 170 countries, allowing travelers to exchange their skills for accommodation and other benefits. Travelers can search for hosts on the website or app based on their preferences for destination and volunteer activity, and then apply to stay with them.
